Our story
From students to product builders: why we created Forento
The Forento team started in 2018 under the name Förento, a reference to the Swedish high-school course in entrepreneurship and business economics. We were students ourselves and felt that the material available to us was outdated, even though the subject had enormous potential.
Our first idea was to create an online course for schools, teachers, and students. That was when we discovered that many course platforms were either difficult to learn, missing essential features, or too expensive. Instead of relying on an existing service, we built our own academy from scratch to host our courses.
About two years later, after selling courses to hundreds of students and teachers, we decided to turn what we had built into forento.io — the platform you know today.
