Release course chapters on fixed dates, so every student follows the same calendar

Chapter dripping has always released content at a steady pace from the moment each student starts. That works well for self-paced courses. But some courses need one shared calendar: an advent calendar with a new door every day in December, a 30-day challenge that starts on the 1st, or a cohort that moves through the material together.

Now you can release chapters on fixed calendar dates.

What changed

In your course settings under Chapter dripping, choose how often chapters release (daily, weekly or monthly). Then pick one of two schedules:

• From each student's start - the first chapter opens when a student starts the course, then one more chapter follows each day, week or month. This is how dripping has always worked.
• On fixed calendar dates - set a release date for the first chapter, and every following chapter opens on the same schedule for every student.

With fixed dates, a 24-chapter course that starts December 1 with one chapter per day opens chapter 1 on December 1, chapter 2 on December 2, and so on until December 24, for everyone.

Late joiners catch up automatically

Students who join after the calendar has started don't start over at chapter 1. Someone who joins on December 10 immediately gets every chapter released so far, then receives the rest day by day alongside everyone else.

So you can keep selling the course after launch day without uploading or unlocking anything by hand.

Students know when the next chapter opens

Chapters that haven't been released yet show students exactly when they become available. If you've enabled the chapter release email, students get a reminder each time a new chapter opens. Students who join late aren't flooded with emails for the chapters they already have.

Release on fixed calendar dates is available now on every plan that includes chapter dripping. Open a course, go to Settings > Chapter dripping, and choose On fixed calendar dates to get started.
