Let Your Students Freely Navigate Courses

We’ve just launched a new learning experience option that gives your students more flexibility and control —they can now navigate your course freely , jumping between chapters and pages at their own pace. This is a feature many of you have asked for, and we're excited to make it available starting today. What’s new? Previously, students progressed through your course step by step , moving through each page in order, unless you chose to allow chapter skipping. Now, with Free Navigation , you can give them full control to: 📖 Jump to any lesson or chapter 🔁 Revisit earlier content ⏩ Skip ahead to what’s most relevant to them It’s perfect for creators who want to support different learning styles or who are offering reference-style content that students may want to dip in and out of. How it works When editing your course settings, you’ll now see an option to toggle “Enable free navigation” on or off. Off (default): Students must progress through the course page by page On: Students can access any page in any order You can still allow chapter skipping as a middle ground if you’d like to keep some structure. Why this matters Every student learns differently. Some want to go step-by-step. Others prefer to explore, revisit, or jump straight to the topics they care most about. Free Navigation gives you more flexibility as a creator , and gives your students a smoother, more personalized learning experience. Whether you’re building a structured curriculum or creating a resource hub, this new feature puts you in control of how your content is experienced.
