Nathan Park is no ordinary goaltender; he's a seasoned veteran with nearly two decades of experience between the pipes. Having played Junior A hockey across Canada and collegiate hockey, Nathan has not only developed a wealth of skills but also a deep understanding of the unique challenges goalies face. Notably, he served as the Emergency Backup Goalie (EBUG) for the Edmonton Oilers over two seasons, showcasing his talent at the highest level.
However, Nathan's journey extends beyond the rink. After hanging up his skates, he devoted himself to coaching, establishing True North Goaltending in Edmonton, Alberta, to empower the next generation of goalies.
After being disheartened by the lack of quality goaltender training, Nathan set out to launch True North Goaltending. An in-person academy in Edmonton, offering coaching services that challenge the traditional ways of goaltender training.
True North Goaltending offers personal coaching sessions and goaltender boot camps. And recently, they launched a facility with synthetic ice just outside Edmonton. This facility allows for private and semi-private training sessions, creating an environment where goalies can refine their skills in a focused setting.

During the pandemic, Nathan got serious about pursuing a career in coaching. He sought to find resources for goaltenders online but couldn't find anything of value. So he decided to do something about it. The first step was to record a series of videos, aimed to help goaltenders understand the core basics of the position.
These videos later turned into the Complete Goaltending Breakdown Course, a comprehensive online course that provides easy-to-digest videos aimed at helping goaltenders uplift their game. After having launched the course, Nathan also launched a blog, a storefront for merch, and a podcast to supplement the training offered by the DIY Goalie.
Nathan chose Forento as the platform for his online training, appreciating its user-friendly interface and capacity to host extensive video content. The DIY Goalie also includes a blog, a merchandise store, and a podcast, all designed to supplement the training and provide valuable insights to goalies everywhere. This online training not only broadens Nathan's reach but also supports goalies who may lack access to in-person coaching.
