Meet Mathias, Experienced Salesman and Content Creator For nearly a decade, Mathias Deppe has been in the world of sales. Starting with door-to-door sales selling insurance as a freelancer, and later transitioning into telesales. These days, he spends his time selling software to businesses. During his best year, he hit the remarkable milestone of €1 million in sales. But Mathias isn’t just a sales professional. Over the past four years, he’s embraced video creation as both a passion and a tool to boost his sales strategy. What started as a hobby with drone videos has evolved into an approach to selling and educating others. Having created over 1,000 videos for social media, he’s now blending his expertise in sales and video to help freelancers and businesses future-proof their brands. Turning Questions into Courses When asked what inspired him to teach online, Mathias explained:\ "I like to help people achieve results. A lot of people used to ask me for sales or video-related advice, so I decided to create courses answering these questions" Before Forento, Mathias relied on one-on-one calls, a format that wasn’t scalable. Now, he’s found a way to teach faster, in a practical, no-nonsense style he describes as “praxis-orientated,” helping his audience get started with video creation and sales quickly. Through Forento, Mathias has built mathiasdeppe.com , where he offers courses such as "Sales with Screen Recording Videos" and "Faceless Videos: Quick Start Guide" both in English and German. Mathias’s courses focus on two main areas: video creation and sales. "Video is the future, and I make my clients future-proof," he says. His audience includes freelancers and aspiring content creators looking to build their brands and learn how to sell using video. Why Forento? Mathias discovered Forento on a software marketplace and was immediately impressed: "I was impressed by how clean and easy to use the platform is." Compared to other platforms, which he describes as overly complex and not creator-friendly, Forento stands out for its focus on creators. "Forento doesn’t need comparison; it’s by far the most creator-focused and easy-to-use platform on the market," Mathias emphasizes. Mathias values the Downloadables feature in Forento, which he uses to create and share freebies. These free resources, often referred to as "lead magnets", are designed to attract potential customers by offering something of value at no cost. This well-established strategy helps him build an email list, providing him with a pool of leads that he can later nurture and convert into paying customers through his deep understanding of the sales process. It's Your Turn Mathias has ambitious plans for the future. "I want to pay for my wedding next year with my course sales," he shares with a smile. His next course will focus on video course creation, with additional resources on editing and filmmaking in the pipeline. With that in mind, we asked Mathias to share some advice with fellow professionals, experts, or coaches who want to get into the world of online courses. Here's what he had to share: Teach what you know: When people ask for your help, what's it usually about? Figure that out, and you've got your course topic nailed down. Start Small: Start with one mini-course. You can iterate on it later. It's about the value: A course doesn’t need to be 8 hours long. It can be 5 minutes, it's the value that matters. If you, like Mathias want to build a business selling online courses teaching what you know, you've found the right place. Forento has all the tools you need to create, launch, and scale your online course business while keeping it incredibly easy to use.
