Time-based access for paid courses

We have released a new option that gives creators more control over how long students can access paid courses. This makes it easier to offer subscription style education, limited access bundles, seasonal programs or any product where access should expire automatically.

How it works

When setting a course to Paid, creators will now see an additional setting called Limit access time. If enabled, the creator can choose a number of months. After a student purchases the course, their access will remain active for exactly that period. Once the access period ends, the student will no longer be able to open the course unless they buy it again or gain access through another product.

Why this is useful

  • Perfect for programs that run in cycles or cohorts
  • Allows creators to sell shorter access periods without managing things manually
  • Helps prevent old lifetime purchases from blocking new pricing models
  • Gives students a clear expectation of how long they can use the material

Examples

  • A coaching program with three months of guided material
  • A skill course sold with six months of access
  • A content library where creators want predictable renewals rather than permanent access

Where to find it

Creators can enable the option in the course editor under the pricing section. Choose Paid, then select Limit access time and set the number of months.

This update gives creators more flexibility in how they package and price their knowledge. We hope it helps you build products that match your business model even better.
